POOLE

BOURNEMOUTH ROAD, PARKSTONE

The site on a main road which leads to the sea front in Poole is very central and close to the university and hospital, therefore a great spot for workers and students new dwellings.

Occupied by 5 detached houses with residential and hospitality use and the Old Joinery a warehouse with commercial use, the site sits in between a variety of terraces, semi and detached houses creating an eclecticism in the street front.

The design scope of the proposed scheme is to reform the urban morphology by referring to the scale and typology of the neighbouring building whether they have sufficient architectural quality to guarantee a contemporary living.

So the terraced house in a revisited contemporary town house language and scale is proposed to create continuity in the streetscape  without imposing architectural language out of contest.

Proposal
